Methodist Women in Britain

The local MWiB  Partnership for 2016/17, the Yeovil Women’s refuge in Yeovil, finished in August.  The amount donated by three churches in the circuit and a Cream Tea at Marnhull amounted to £398.02. In the early autumn we heard that the Refuge was closing and the churches who contributed have been asked what they want done with their donation. The recent circuit MWiB committee decided that the £45 from the Cream Tea is going into the current District Partnership for 2017/18 ‘Albania Hope’, which is work among girls and women, so that they get information and guidance on how to avoid being entrapped into the trafficking of them to Britain and other countries. There is now a youth project for 18 to 26 year olds on topics of ‘Human Anti-traffficking’, ‘Self-Awareness’ and ‘Conflict Resolution’. We are hoping to arrange a Circuit Day on the Project in May 2018. Details later.
