Ashmore

Ashmore Methodist Chapel

Ashmore Methodists first met at Manor Farm at the invitation of Samuel Hall 1768-1844.

The original Wesleyan Church was built in the High Street in 1856. The village people are said to have collected flints to help in its construction.

A hall for the Sunday School and Band of Hope was built in 1904 and in 1974 the hall was taken over as the Church and the original building sold.

In 2010 a decision was taken to sell the chapel building due to concerns over costs of maintenance & Disability Access issues. The congregation continues to meet at the Village Hall every Sunday and as a result members have returned to worship because the heating and access issues are resolved.

For well over 100 years carol singing has taken place on Christmas Eve in aid of NCH Action for Children.

Sunday Morning Worship at 11am at Ashmore Village Hall
on the first and third Sunday of the month.
